So i am 25 years old and feel i am going through a quarter life crises.
With everything happening in the world, so much to do and see, a bucket list to fullfill and a career to pursue do you ever feel like time is ticking by and your barely keeping up?
In English Literature A Level i studied a poem in which has stayed with me ever since.
W.H.AUDEN IF I COULD TELL YOU
Time will say nothing but I told you so, Time only knows the price we have to pay; If I could tell you I would let you know. If we should weep when clowns put on their show, If we should stumble when musicians play, Time will say nothing but I told you so. There are no fortunes to be told, although, Because I love you more than I can say, If I could tell you I would let you know. The winds must come from somewhere when they blow, There must be reasons why the leaves decay; Time will say nothing but I told you so. Perhaps the roses really want to grow, The vision seriously intends to stay; If I could tell you I would let you know. Suppose the lions all get up and go, And all the brooks and soldiers run away; Will Time say nothing but I told you so? If I could tell you I would let you know.
With current situations happening in the world COVID-19 Pandemic, riots, wars and protests we are loosing ourselves as a person and as world of whats really important and feeling lost in a world in which we call home. Resulting lost as person in a sense of belonging, purpose and how to live our lives. This poem i believe is as much relevant as it was when it was first published.
So i speak out to those who feel in the same situation that i call quarter life crises and that you are not alone.
Us together are strong, communicating is key and maintaining wellbeing is vital.
